Is that by Balzac? I've heard of it, but never read it. I'll have to next year, though XD

Yes, it is. I really hope it's good because otherwise I don't know how I'll get through 400 pages till Thursday.

If it's interesting, you can get through it really quickly. I literally read the whole Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in two days. And that's like 850 pages!

Ditto. Storm of Swords, the thrid part of Game of Thrones took me three days, and it's got around 1100 pages.

Wow. That's going to be awesome. Very Happy I'm still reading the first part. I love it when a great book has so many pages, like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

I got through the order of the phoenix when I was 7 in a few hours!
Mind you, I read the British version which is 100 pages less because the text is so small so I literally skipped whole passages the whole time because of the text size XD I still come across a few new parts here and then.

Yeah, me too. With shorter stories, I'm always sad that they ended. Sad

Hahahahhaha, Mac, I know how that feels. Hailey got me all nostalgic about Black Beauty - I've been reading little excerpts, and I don't remember half of them XD

I have to read the Decameron now. The prologue killed me; but the first story was actually pretty good.

Decameron is not bad. The stories are interesting, mostly because they're kinky - not something you'd expect in a school reading program Laughing

Yeah, I actually liked it a lot. I hated the prologue and the second story (day 2, novella 3) but story 1 (day 1, novella 1) and story 3 (day 10, novella 5) were awesome Very Happy

As for kinky, I'll never forget reading Catcher. My teacher asked me what sort of things Holden saw at that hotel he stayed and I'm thinking 'HOW can I say that to my teacher?' He almost has sex with a prostitute, sees a dude cross-dressing as a girl (undergarments and all) and all sorts of stuff XD

    Croatian.
I read it in English later, but the actual book report was for Croatian class.

Well, I do have the book in English. But as an actual book; not an eBook or Kindle or whatever. I bought it after having to read it in Croatian, because I think you should always read books in their original language. And it's a huge favorite of both my dad and I.
But unless I'm severely behind on technoclogy, I see no way how to get that to you XD There is this site though: http://freebooksread.blogspot.com/2010/01/read-catcher-in-rye-online.html

They've got a pretty cool book trailer too.

Good to know Very Happy I'm glad you got it finished in time; the 3rd graders at my school were complaining that they didn't have enough time, that they'd be stuck at home all day XD

I'm reading Hamlet now. And I LOVE it. If anyone ever gets the chance, read it! After I finish it, I'm going to buy Macbeth or King Lear.

My Liege and Madam, to expostulate,
What Majesty should be, what duty is,
Why day is day; night, night; and time is time,
Were nothing but to waste day, night and time.
Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit,
And tediousness, the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief. Your noble son is mad:
Mad I call it; for to define true madness
What is't, but to be nothing else but mad.

I just love this entire passage. It's going on my signature.

I love Hamlet. I'm definitely going to read more of Shakespeare's works. I love his sonnets as well.

Am now stuck with Don Quixote. It's not that good :/
I mean, it's funny and Don Quixote can really be a complete moron, but there's no continuous story-line, it's more of a hundred little stories in one book. I don't know, that doesn't really appeal to me; I like it more when there's an ongoing theme.
The good news is I only have to seriously read 3 chapters, and those 3 chapters will be the ones we'll discuss during class and possibly have a test on. The other 123 chapters we're supposed to read throughout the year, since the book is just too big (1000 pages) and we'd never have enough time to do the other book reports.
