First of all, I must ask, did you get into Pottermore? I did on the first day and I can't wait to see what it's all about. My username is WildCastle89.

Harry Potter
Considering that we're all fans, it'd be silly not to have a Harry Potter topic.

Re: Harry Potter
YES! So excited!!! Unfortunately I was busy the first two days, so it wasn't until the third day that I had a chance to join. But I'm in, so there's no complaining from me Now I just have to try and calmly wait until stuff begins happening.

I got in on the second day, because I somehow managed to forget, after waiting like for three weeks! Still waiting for the email.

Me too. I'm just worried because my computer is being an idiot again. I don't know what I'll do if I get the email and my computer doesn't work.

Re: Harry Potter
I should probably reread the whole series myself. It's been a while since I read Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets...

I missed PotterMore I feel like a bad fan...
Can I ask everyone? How did you discover Harry Potter? Personally, the Half Blood Prince came out and they were talking about it on the news, so I decided to check it out!

Re: Harry Potter
I found out about it about 10 years ago. My mum found out about it from a friend whose kids really liked it. And hence began my childhood reading obsession...

Re: Harry Potter
I missed it too. I dunno, I had some other stuff going on and I never really understood what the website actually was in the first place, so I actually sort of, uh, (this is embarrasing) forgot about it xD I'll just join up in October, I guess.
As for discovering Harry Potter, I tried to read it way too early. I think I saw one of the movies and thought it was cool and then wanted to read the book, but I was in 2nd or 3rd grade at the time. It was just too difficult for me, and I got real fed up and resolved to hate the book. In 5th grade I gave it another whirl though, and loved it.

Re: Harry Potter
I don't remember when I got the first book, but I know I was quite young. I liked it, but not enough to try to get my hands on the other books as well. I got the fifth and the sixth book a few years later. I tried reading them, but I gave up soon. It wasn't until I got chicken pox three and a half years ago that I picked them up again. I reread The Philosopher's Stone and moved on to The Order of the Phoenix. That was when I became obsessed. I couldn't put it down. I tried to read The Half-Blood Prince as slowly as I could because I didn't know when I'll get the rest of the books. Luckily, my friend had them all and she borrowed them to me. I literally spend those weeks reading Harry Potter 20 hours a day. After I finished the last book, I suffered from post-Potter depression. Since then I have reread the books countless times. Words can't explain how much I love that world. I wouldn't be the same without it. My life wouldn't be the same.

That was meant to be a "weeeee" of excitement dammit! You better not be seriously comparing me to her, grrrr!
Those lyrics are truly awful...even I could write better music than that. Eugh!
I'll stop ranting now
Anyway, Pottermore. It's just an interactive Harry Potter thing, which goes through each chapter in the book, allowing you to experience parts of it for yourself. In each scene you can collect things (such as Galleons, which you can then use to buy stuff). You can also make potions and fight duels with other members, and hence earn points for the house cup. Getting your wand and getting sorted was the most exciting thing. (My wand is Apple, Unicorn hair, 13 3/4 inches, quite flexible. And I'm in Ravenclaw! ) But apart from that, it didn't really live up to my expectations and it became quite repetitive by the end, so I was kind of disappointed. You can only do the Philosopher's Stone at the moment, and I've finished it already
My favourite part of it was that JK had left all these little notes around the place, either showing facts about the world which she never revealed in the books (like Prof Mcgonagall's life story), or talking about how she came up with the ideas. It was really interesting to see just how much work she put into the books.

I have google chrome and every new tab I open has all the websites I stalk go on a lot. I should be a cereal stalker... Pottermore will be the new addition.
This is such a bad habit. I'm so obsessed with everything. I think I need to stop.
Congratulations! You've posted the second highest amount of posts...
